JUPITER

THE PLANET

Jupiter governs the Signs of Sagittarius and Pisces, and is exalted in the Sign of Cancer [Moonchild]. Jupiter, too, presides over the Hosts of Devas.

Jupiter is presented as the Preserver, remarkable for its own Symbolism and its relations to other Symbols. On a higher level, it is regarded as the Great Life Wave, and often is compared to the Trinity.

There is much to be learned from the study of Jupiter, which is both surprising and fascinating. It is believed the human aura is mainly under the influence of Jupiter. Also, the softening atmospheric effects in the Spring are attributed to Jupiter.

Appearance and Body Structure: Jupiter in the Ascendant or planet ruler of the chart will contribute to a large and ample body, sanguine or fair complexion or complexion that contains a glow or soft highlight. Jovial, with much self-esteem, the personality is optimistic and expansive. Some degree of physical harmony and balance may be controlled by attention to Jupiterean systems such as the arterial system, liver, fats and glycogen, and the manufacture and secretion of insulin by the pancreas gland. He is sometimes referred to as the body “bank” – some believe there is a direct connection between the blood and spirit. Jupiter is managed, in part, via clear [toxin-free] and healthy blood.

Jupiter in an excellent salesperson, fully stocked with a treasure trove of anecdotes, jokes, and inside tips or latest bet/investments taking shape. Noted for a good and genial personality, good fellowship, good will, and general good luck. In your star chart Jupiter symbolizes benefit and the cosmic factor that cannot be calculated.

Jupiter Triads

Jupiter is prominent in several important ancient triads. The best known are associated with the occult anatomy, the overview 'watching over us', and internal weather system.

Jupiter and Juno, Lord and Lady of Heaven - Olympus, govern the two physical eyes in the occult anatomy. Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom, governs the spiritual eye, known as "the brow" - her modern day contributions would include The Women's Conference archived here. In the Greek system they are: Zeus, Hera, and Pallas Athena.

Birds
Jupiter: Eagle, Doves at Dodona [ancient network of sacred lines discerned via migration of birds], Phoenix [as higher octave of the Moon].
Juno: Peacock and Cuckoo, linked with Tarot Trump II
Minerva: Owl and other birds that symbolize wisdom; gift - to be able to understand the language of the birds [nd thus to foretell the future].

The weather cycle is governed by Jupiter [OM], Apollo [Sun], and Diana [Moon]. Ancient temples dedicated to Immortals [Laws] providing their protection of favorable weather conditions [on Earth] were seldom, if ever, raided or plundered. Military leaders in any culture recognized there would be bad luck to follow those on the wrong side of greater and/or lesser weather dieties, so weather islands and sanctuaries were left untouched.

Jupiter Supplements

The esoteric system linked with Jupiter involves the integrity of the lower octave sensorium that takes in new information and transmits the message to the brain. The blood must be clear so any attempt to purify the blood is usually associated with Jupiter, at least in part. Care with sugar and starch often advised, and fresh mountain water is recommended - several cups a day.

The menu should include a meal a day with something that will keep the blood clean; foods high in sulphur are recommended. Sauces with garlic, ginseng, or mushrooms usually help as well.
see It's All In The Sauce for several of these included in a recipe list

Jupiter foods and cell salts help to rejuvenate the skin and minimize wrinkles around the eyes. Foods include: alfalfa, almonds, apples, beet, bell peppers, brown rice, cucumber, carrots, figs, soy, and salad greens contain silica. Silica also act as a detoxifier for many health issues like bacteria, viruses, moulds, parasites etc.

Perfume: Jasmine, Ginseng, all odoriferous roots [musk ok]. Sandalwood is an alternate.

JUPITER IN THE HOUSES

Jupiter in the First House In the first house, the house of self or ego, Jupiter makes you kindly, optimistic, hopeful, and gives you a love of pleasures, the outdoors and traveling. Learn to say no to responsibility you really do not want to assume. Jupiter gives executive ability, a good sense of humor, and an expansive personality. In the sign Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, Jupiter aids Mars and gives ambition, a true pioneer type of nature. It gives literary or legal ability. Avoid rich food and heavy sauces that could tax your health.

Jupiter in the Second House In Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, Jupiter complements Venus. This aids and eliminates many of the Taurus characteristics, such as stubbornness and love of pleasure. Extravagant gifts may come your way. It attracts wealth, and sometimes benefactors from unlikely quarters. Jupiter gives a generous disposition, but in a conservative way. Prosperity is the forenote if Jupiter inhabits the second house in the natal chart but try to stick to a specific plan when you spend [develop a knack for window shopping] so as to avoid overextending your financial accounts.

Jupiter in the Third House Jupiter in the third house brings out the higher aspects of the mind, making you optimistic. You gain educational advantages, are popular with your brothers and sisters, may want to research family roots or write an account of childhood friends and family history based on personal interviews. Success is gained in writing, traveling or publications. In Gemini, the third sign, Jupiter combines with Mercury to give you a direct approach, which seems to help people of this unpredictable sign. It makes you inventive and gives you a love of mathematics.

Jupiter in the Fourth House With Jupiter in the fourth house, home conditions are emphasized and you would do better in the place of your birth than in other places around the globe. Plans for home improvement will pay back on your investment. Catering or starting a “kitchen project” you turn into a business [salad dressing, cookies, hot sauce, etc.] may interest you and be successful if you pursue the possibility. Your parents will help you throughout life, often with an inheritance at their death, unless Jupiter is severely afflicted. The Moon’s sign, with Jupiter here, finds a steadying force. Here, especially, the influence of Jupiter isn’t felt until middle life. This position can make for success in investments concerning property.

Jupiter in the Fifth House In the fifth house, if you have Jupiter in this location, it increases the number of children who will bring you profit and pleasure. It makes for popularity and gain by speculation. Positions can be in publishing or teaching. Your hobby may become a small business and lead to unexpected profits. In Leo, the natural ruler of this house, Jupiter and the Sun make a good combination. It makes good prospects for success and esteem. Health is good, and you’re a leader, able to fulfill positions of trust and responsibility.

Jupiter in the Sixth House The sixth house of work and health is especially good with Jupiter aiding both causes. Health disorders include liver troubles, obesity and other disorders produced by overeating if it is afflicted here. You will want to take a course in basic rescue techniques at some point in life, perhaps as a lifeguard or first aid volunteer. Virgo rules this house in the mundane chart and here Jupiter aids Mercury, making the Virgo mind able to reach the heights in honorable professions. The mind is analytical and practical and able to ferret out secrets, thus making for good judgment.

Jupiter in the Seventh House The seventh house rules partners and Jupiter here guarantees you’ll find such a mate who’ll bring you social prestige and perhaps fortune. Here law is a good course to take for a career, unless Jupiter is afflicted. Its natural sign here is Libra, which again emphasizes the Venus ruler, making you just and a part of worthy causes. You excel in language skills, could work as an interpreter, tutor to foreign students attending school in this country, or transcribe text in written in another language. Interest will be in art and music, literature and social affairs and thus makes you popular.

Jupiter in the Eighth House The eighth house has gains indicated through inheritance, partners or marriage. Ruler of the eighth house is Scorpio where Jupiter adds integrity and sympathy to the Mars-Pluto ruled nature. At some point you will manage the money and/or property of others. Good position for someone in the IRS, or working as a bookkeeper or a CPA. Mind is constructive and resourceful, and it shows interest in philosophy, research [esp. medicine, occult, and historical buildings/landmarks], and other associated subjects.

Jupiter in the Ninth House Natural home of Jupiter is the ninth house where it makes you noble and kind-hearted with strong spiritual tendencies. You will favor the orthodox and establishes lines of thought or find your spiritual inspiration through contact with natural power sites. You’ll love to travel and can gain thereby. Sagittarius is the natural ruler of the ninth house and the natural home of Jupiter. Here its benefits are doubly strong, and a good guarantee of success in life. It also inclines you to extravagance and there’s trouble with the law or finances.

Jupiter in the Tenth House The tenth house finds Jupiter adding to your success and if supported by Saturn, Sun or Moon, gives you a chance to reach the top with wealth, honor and esteem. Official appointments are possible for you as people in authority assist you with your career. Positions in law, church or government are areas in which to attain prominence. In Capricorn, Jupiter influences its ruler, Saturn, and brings out the good. It reveals a person who can assume authority over others and do it well. You’ll hate waste, will be resourceful. Trustworthy and honest, as well as sincere, will be your nature.

Jupiter in the Eleventh House In the eleventh house, Jupiter brings good friends, both wealthy and influential. Hopes and wishes may be attained. Aquarius is the eleventh sign and Jupiter here makes these people popular and adds to their ambition. It makes you more humane and philosophical… people who like other people and society in general. You will be attracted to mysticism and literature, and it is a good overall indication of success in life. You’ll also enjoy music and attract people with the same inclinations, who help you.

Jupiter in the Twelfth House The twelfth house indicates gain and success in occupations of seclusion. It almost guarantees you’ll receive help if and when needed, or if you are well-to-do you’ll aid others. Your enemies become your friends. Pisces gains double strength with Jupiter here, but needs other aspects to make for good influences in order to attain high purpose. These people love to aid society and are often the “angels of mercy.” If Jupiter is in Pisces in your natal chart, you will be inclined to study the occult and to have psychic experiences. You love music, art and literature, and if other aspects aid, can achieve ability in these fields.

Sagittarius
The following are Ptolemy's remarks: "The stars at the point of the arrow in Sagittarius have influence similar to that of Mars and the Moon: those on the bow, and at the grasp of the hand, act like Jupiter and Mars . . . those in the waist and in the back resemble Jupiter, and also Mercury moderately: those in the feet, Jupiter and Saturn."

Some Astrological Symbols Found in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

1) Isildur and The Army of the Dead

The King of the Dead and his ghost army represent all who swore allegiance to Isildur, then abandoned him ensuring his ambush and death. The scene that shows the demise of Isildur appears in Peter Jackson’s prologue for The Lord of The Ring trilogy. The traitors live in their own world inside the mountain in contrast to the heroes who, on top of the mountain, pledged to support and aid each other in time of need – see the Beacons of Gondor.

Oath-breakers, especially in the military, represent negative Mars’ [foot soldier and cavalry] domination over positive Jupiter. In other words, honorable men make vows and keep them, but dishonorable men make vows and break them. Men respond to confrontation according to the bent of their nature. You could say that the way someone adheres to the vows they have taken is a sign of character that separates the men from the boys. This theme also appears prominently in the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, with which Tolkien was familiar as a scholar and an Englishman.

When Jupiter, Ruler of Heaven, walks in the world of mortals, he does not carry his lightning bolt. He walks with his staff, inscribed with binding oaths and vows of honor, as does Juno, Queen of Heaven. Jupiter and Juno are the two physical eyes in occult anatomy, Minerva is the brow or third eye, also known as second sight. The staff is often considered the symbol of the power of its owner. See also Gandalf the White exorcise King Theoden.

The conflict between deceptive Mars [oath breaker] and positive Jupiter [oath keeper] is a major sub text theme that runs through Tolkien’s whole trilogy. Tolkien understood warfare, a shared theme for Mars and Jupiter. As a scholar and military man himself, he knew the specifics of ancient and modern warfare in the physical and philosophical theaters. The multi-layered texture of his writing is difficult to convert to film, but Peter Jackson accomplished much of the task with the magic of modern effects in The Battle of Pelennor Fields.

2) King Theodin and The Rohirim

The Golden Hall of the Rohirim -- like Olympus and Asgard -- is high on a hill, with a clear view as far as the eye can see [positive Apollo, positive Jupiter]. Eowyn [positive Luna and Venus] stands on the steps of the hall when the White Horse banner [positive Venus] flies off its pole onto the wind, floating as if to transcend the city gates [positive Jupiter] and welcome the four riders who approach. Aragorn has been warned of the conspiracy to gain control of Rohan so horse banner symbolism is not lost on him. We may add allusions to Shadowfax, Asfaloth, and Pegasus or the white stallion hill in the UK, captured in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. When we meet King Theodin he had long been a captive in his own Hall. Forces of darkness poisoned and manipulated him [negative Mars] to work against his own interests, family, and the people of Rohan in the second installment of the story, The Two Towers. The King [Apollo-Jupiter] was drugged and programmed by Grima Wormtongue [negative Mercury], an agent of abscentee wizard Saruman the White, who betrayed Gandalf the Grey and the Council.

The eyes of Theodin were covered with film or veiled so he did not recognize family or close confidants in his court, many of whom he banished. Gandalf expelled Saruman, telling Theodin to, “Breathe the air of freedom!” His eyes are restored as he regains his awareness of the situation.

Once Saruman [negative Mars, negative Jupiter] is cast out of the king, Theodin's allies and army of horse lords form a united front and defend their people at the fortress Helms Deep. By tradition, Helms Deep [positive Luna] is the safe and secure place for the Rohirim if they are under attack. With the return of Gandalf the White and Eomer at dawn of the fifth day [all positive Apollo and positive Jupiter] the combined armies of Saruman [and Sauron] are forced to scatter and meet with their unexpected defeat.

3) The Battle of Pelennor Fields

Sauron’s army begins a direct assault on Minas Tirith in the third book, The Return of the King. Minas Tirith, like Helms Deep, is carved from the Earth [Gaia] herself. The City of Kings [and New Jerusalem] represents the physical and philosophic incarnation of the total human intertwined with a network made up of all living things. The positive potter [Jupiter-Zeus] is in direct conflict with the negative potter [Saruman and Sauron]. Theodin and Aragorn fight to restore the United Kingdom. Sauron’s purpose is to reduce Minas Tirith and all living men, women and children to dust.

Fear [negative Mars, negative Luna] is the first and most powerful tactic used by Sauron. If an army can create an atmosphere permeated with fear [terror, shock] on the battlefield it is possible to disarm an opposing army. By neutralizing the ability to combine positive Mars and positive Luna and thus produce ‘superman’ and ‘superwoman’ types of personal force, what is necessary to defeat the enemy is out of reach. Physical and psychological defenses are broken, or at best, weak.

The messengers of death decide to first use catapults to deliver the inhabitants of Minas Tirith their own tortured and fallen dismembered heroes [negative Mars]. Launched fiery projectiles then hail down on the fleeing population like flames from hell. Each volley intensifies the fear. Minas Tirith retaliates with catapults of the city walls and pulverized towers. As Nazgul approach, mounted on flying dragons [the Nine Walkers compensate for the Nine Riders in black] the city is vulnerable from the sky; and their reptiles’ screech can pierce the human eardrum. Gandalf calls on the moth, symbolic of the ancient rite of initiation, to bring on the great eagles [symbol of Jupiter] to make short work of the flying Nazgul mounts.

The oliphants represent the same power symbols as the flying horse, though one is eastern and the other associated with mythology in the western system. Both are powerful animals of great strength who support the material world [Jupiter reference]. They fight each other because they are used by opposing armies as part of a military strategy, but in metaphysical terms they are the same and may be interchanged because they facilitate one identical plan.

Posititve Jupiter

There are people who have been working for years to try to refine the physical body. They have watched their diet, regulated their food intake, kept away from all the detrimental carbohydrates, etc., but not a moment has been devoted to dieting and nourishing the mind. There has been no real thought given to actually feeding the emotions with proper nutrition. At the famous banquet of the Olympiadorus, wise men gathered together for a feast with nothing to eat but stale bread and sour milk. Their banquet consisted of a union of minds – the magnificent nutrition of becoming informed, becoming wiser, learning to understand each other better. The free communication of ideas was the banquet. The average individual of this age mentally is starving to death. He is not only having no proper mental nutrition, but is fed with every kind of an intellectual insecticide imaginable. Everything is polluted, adulterated, exploited, and commercialized. He has very little opportunity to be mentally properly fed, and because of this lack of proper nutrition he is incapable of using the mind correctly as an instrument of personal creativity. He cannot use the body if it is decimated by various illnesses, and likewise he cannot use the mind if it is decimated with mental illnesses – false opinions, prejudices, conceits, intolerances, and the like.
